went to NYJC volunteerism seminar cum interact exco installation. thought it would be really boring but it turned out to be otherwise! its like really intrigueing and meaningful. like this phrase someone mentioned really leaves a lasting impression on me. here it goes: simplicity is irreversible. many times we flew over to those third world places such as the rural areas in thailand hoping to bring them a better lives by building all the houses for them but at the same time we seemed to be doing something rahter paradoxical. without those globalisation that we are bringing in they seemed to be already very happy living their own kind of simplistic lifestyle. they are so happy and contented. but we are trying to change it by adding all these modern architectures. i totally agree la! sometimes you dont need all these luxuries to be happy, as long as you know how to be contented and happy in life i think thats enough.
back here in singapore there is like competition everywhere and not all the people are as dan chun as them. which i dont really like? there is xin ji in people and you cant exactly trust people here. i have got these experiences where friends betrayed me so... yes. friends who were once so close can actually think that you have other motives when you do something which is totally saddening. and i hate it when people lie. not real not genuine and out there to cheat people who are very innocent. (well i think i m quite ignorant and innocent at some times and i like it) at least i dont lie.
come to think about it,
i dont mind living their kinda life where people can just be happy.where people are just pure and real and sensitive, given a chance if this isnt such a realistic world where people only see your credits, i would just give up my studies and do some charity work and help people around the world. improving the lives of others is much more meaningful than studying seriously. but you cant do all these without money. my dream (DREAM, its hard to realise this so all i can do is just dream) is to earn lotsa money and provide free medical treatment to people (maybe not in singapore some other third world countries).
i feel happy and contented now (:
